Btooom! is another good anime. It is about this kid named Ryouta who is in the top 10 rank in a video game, and gets a challenge request from the #2 person in the world. Then he accepts with too much pride. Next thing he knows, the game becomes real life. This show is really easy to understand too. He doesn't find out the the numbers on the bomb is a timer until the end of episode 1. I really like it though. It is a fighting/war game, but with out guns! There is a lot of action. And then the game becomes real life for this girl who I think lives far away from the guy. They only know each other in game. Then they end up meeting when the game becomes real life. They start out alone though. The boy is being chased by a guy who is trying to kill him. The girl (Himiko) starts out as 3 men approach her asking for her to join their group. Then something happens and I don't want to spoil it. This show gets bloody at times though!

Kiki's Delivery Service was the first anime I've ever seen!
This is my favorite Studio Ghibli film. I love the music, the scenery, the story line, and it is just a beautiful anime movie. It makes you appreciate the work and effort put into classical hand drawn movies. This was the first real Japanese anime movie or show that I've ever seen. This was when I started watching over the summer about 3 or 4 months ago. Then I rented more Hayao Miyazaki films like Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. I didn't end up watching spirited away but I plan on watching it soon now that I am more into anime. Totoro was funny but there were some creepy moments. All Studio Ghibli films usually have a scary scene or enemy. In Totoro, it was the cat that looked like a bus. There wasn't a scary scene in Kiki's Delivery Service and that's why I liked it so much. That is also why I like slice of life anime shows.

Kamichu! an unexpected gold mine!
When ever I used to go to my public library, I always used to see this in the anime section, but I never checked it out, first of all because I just started watching it less than 4 months ago, and because it looked like an older show. I was wrong! It was actually made in 2005, and it is actually really good. Now this show isn't on animeultime.tv and it's really expensive on Amazon, but if you get the chance to watch it, watch it for sure. I'm really glad that I took the chance to watch this show. Now it's not ongoing. I don't think that the episodes relate. It's kind of like a slice of life, but about this girl who is a god. It's based on the Shinto Religion according to Wikipedia. I don't know if this is right, but the girl's cat talks and so do her toy/fairy things. I think that they also talk to her through her brain, like they send messages to her in her head. I only watched episode 5 so I don't know how this works. But I know that the show is probably not on-going based on the context in episode 5 but it is a well animated and well story lined show.

One Piece figure from Comiket 83!
My friend went all the way to Japan for Comiket 83 and got a bunch of stuff. They don't have One Piece stuff at Comiket, because it is for individual writers, and amateurs. He had to go to another place to get the Luffy figure. He got me a Monkey D. Luffy Film Z Vol. 1 figure. I started watching more One Piece because of this. I only saw the first episode, but after he got my this, I watched up to 5 and I kind of like it. I don't think that I will ever catch up to the current episodes (579 to be exact). I read a few of the mangas on my phone, and followed along with the show. I am more a fan of the show though. I like anime more because of the color, detail, and comical look. One Piece has that funny trait to it that I love so much!
K-On! The first slice of life anime show I've seen!
I just started watching K-On! which is a slice of life anime about 4 girls who start a music club at school (or save it before it gets cancelled), and since they only have 4 people in the club, they decide to start a band, and it is just a really cool school anime. It's funny and is very enjoyable. I watch anime on www.animeultima.tv. It is a really good website. It has subbed or dubbed english of every episode on the site. Some episodes even have both! Most of the episodes are spoken in Japanese but are English subbed. They are rarely dubbed. But it is still a great website!

Miki Falls, an American manga!
So the other day I was watching Mark Crilley's YouTube channel (click here to check it out), and people were talking about how they ordered his manga drawing book on Amazon.com. Then some people were saying how they got his 4 book series Miki Falls. I rented it from the library but I haven't read it yet. I'll
probably get to it sometime in the near future though. I've mainly been
watching anime.

Welcome anime fans!
This is the start of a new blog. I will write about Japanese manga and anime. My main focus is anime and manga that don't really involve fighting. They can be funny or fall in the slice of life category! I like funny anime. I also like anime movies. I like to watch Studio Ghibli films. This blog is about anything anime or manga related. I will be posting on this blog a lot!
